Meet your mentor

Jen Quist's remarkable journey through the hospitality industry has been defined by her visionary leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for creating memorable experiences. With a career spanning over two decades, Jen has seamlessly blended her culinary prowess with strategic business acumen to transform the hospitality landscape.

Beginning her career with a BA degree in Communications from the University of Washington, Jen transitioned from San Francisco real estate and tech into the culinary world, earning her stripes at The French Culinary Institute in New York City.

Relocating to Portland, Oregon in 2010, Jen's entrepreneurial journey took flight with the opening of Riffle NW, a critically acclaimed sustainable seafood restaurant. Her operational expertise was further demonstrated as the Director of Operations at Davis Hospitality Group, where she played a pivotal role in launching the Multnomah Whiskey Library and The Green Room, catapulting them to consistent financial success, while also earning widespread recognition, with their three-time semi-finalist status at the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail awards, as well as features in The New York Times and Food & Wine Magazine.

2015 marked the launch of Jen’s first step into consulting where she applied her dynamic skill set to assist clients in restaurant fundamentals, strategy, and financial growth. This led to a partnership with Provenance Hotels as their Head of Restaurant & Bar Development, where she directed brand revamps for their properties across the US, while also developing new concepts and programming for future business. This work laid the groundwork for her introduction to Portland’s soon-to-be Woodlark Hotel and the eventual creation of her hospitality group, Holler Hospitality.

At the helm of Holler Hospitality, the hospitality arm of NBP Capital—a real estate investment platform boasting a portfolio market value of over $1 billion—Jen demonstrated exceptional ability in conceptualizing, managing, and spearheading projects with substantial budgets and significant impacts. Under her guidance, the group launched its inaugural projects in the Woodlark Hotel, including Esquire’s “50 Best Restaurants”, Bullard, and Time Magazine’s “100 Places to Visit in the World”, Abigail Hall, alongside the hotel’s coffee bar, Good Coffee. Woodlark’s F&B program not only achieved profitability within the first year, but also created a beacon of hospitality in the emerging neighborhood of Downtown Portland, reflecting Jen's love for genuine engagement with the community.

Her influence then extended to a role as Marketing Director for Portland digital & creative agency powerhouse, WLCR, where she oversaw the Food & Beverage Marketing division, managing several renowned brands like Ava Gene’s, Tusk and Bamboo Sushi, driving a collective annual revenue of $60M. Her strategic approach to marketing, coupled with her deep understanding of each market she encounters, continues to drive growth and enhance brand engagement across the industry.

Today Jen pours her heart into Wishwell, her consulting venture aimed at bolstering the hospitality industry. Her goal is to help businesses not just survive but prosper, drawing on her vast experience to guide them through the industry's neverending challenges.

Aside from hospitality, Jen also has a deep passion for wellness and fertility, holding dual certifications as an Integrated Nutrition Coach and Fertility Coach. Inspired by her personal health and fertility journey, she is committed to empowering women in their pursuit of well-being, offering guidance and support through their own paths to health. She's making this impact from Bend, Oregon, where she's laid down roots with her husband (also a chef!), their daughter, and two pups, after an adventurous journey from San Francisco to New York to Portland.
